Circular economy – rational use of raw materials conference

We would like to invite you to participate in the fifth „Circular economy – rational use of raw materials” conference. The event will take place on 24-25 November 2021 in a hybrid form – online as well as at the Mercure Racławice Dosłońce Conference & SPA Hotel.

This is already the fifth meeting on the subject of the circular economy organized by the Institute of Mineral and Energy Economy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The conference is a component of the oto-GOZ project that aims to develop a system of indicators to evaluate progress in the transition towards a circular economy and the impact of a circular economy on socio-economic development at the mesoeconomic (regions) and macroeconomic (national economy) level. The project is co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development as part of the first competition process for the „Social and economic development of Poland under conditions of globalising markets” GOSPOSTRATEG programme.

Participation in the event is free of charge.

The aim of the conference is to exchange knowledge and experience and to present actions supporting and promoting solutions compliant with the circular economy concept. Quicker circular economy transition is necessary not only due to stricter environmental protection regulations but also to increase competitiveness and meet consumers’ expectations. The proposed actions and strategies are present both at the EU level, i.a. European Green Deal objectives, and in Poland. Circular economy is already an important, horizontal activity included in the industrial policy, the National Recovery Plan and new financial programmes for 2021-2027, e.g. FENIKS European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment or FENG European Funds for Modern Economy. Studies and analyses carried out, e.g. by PARP, indicate that in Poland there is still a lack of knowledge (competence gap) as well as awareness of market participants in terms of initiating, implementing and creating new circular economy business models. Therefore, promotional and educational activities and appropriate legal regulations as well as public sector activities stimulating circular economy development and implementation are necessary
